Established in 2020, Black Pirate Pup Co. is a first responder, family-owned and operated business. Accredited by esteemed organizations such as the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), and recognized as an American Kennel Club (AKC) evaluator, we specialize in training a diverse range of animals. Whether you have a pet, working canine, assistance animal, therapy dog, first responder assistance k9 or service dog, we cater to all breeds and ages with our comprehensive training programs.

In contrast to many other trainers and service dog organizations focusing solely on veterans, we specialize in training service dogs to assist individuals with non-combat-related traumas, mental illnesses, disabilities, and other challenges. As certified AKC evaluators, we offer a comprehensive range of training programs, including the Canine Good Citizen Programs, Puppy Star Program, Virtual Home Manners titles, and various Trick Dog titles for your dog's development. Additionally, Black Pirate Pup Co. actively collaborates with local fire rescues, police, and SWAT canine departments to provide essential K9 CPR, first aid, and trauma classes. Our mission extends beyond training; we are dedicated to educating all working canine handlers on proper care techniques to minimize casualties in their respective fields.

MYCAELA MCCORRY
FOUNDER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND HEAD TRAINER
Mycaela McCorry is an AKC Evaluator and accredited dog trainer with the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP). She is also certified as an Animal Control Officer through National Animal Control Association (NACA). Mycaela is also canine CPR and first aid certified through Trikos Team Dog Training and with a love for learning, she has underwent training and is certified in pet psychology and canine communication.
Mycaela started off dog training at a very young age and just had a knack for being able to understand and communicate effectively with dogs. Through her need for a service dog of her own, she got more into the schutzhund dog sport and service dog community and has blossomed from there. She is currently the senior head trainer for a non-profit organization that trains service dogs for veterans and has thus, far expanded her knowledge in service dog and therapy work. Mycaela also works alongside her husband and co-owner Gabriel with a local company that trains K9 TECC and canine casualty care in the field of LEO and fire rescue
GABRIEL MCCORRY
Co-Owner, Canine Trauma/ Tactical Care Instructor and Decoy
Gabriel is a local firefighter, first responder and firearms instructor. Gabriel has been working alongside canine handlers since 2016 and as a Paramedic and firefighter he has medical experience that he brings over to the canine world and our dog training. He is one of the lead instructors that helps train canine handlers, local LEO and fire rescues throughout the state of Florida on how to care for injured working dogs in the field while on active and non-active scenes. He also assists in decoy work for active bite training and dog sport such as IGP/ Schutzhund.

Zara Blue Vom Rohaus is a working line, German and Czech, AKC and UKC registered German Shepherd Dog. She is a fully trained service dog that carries eight titles to her name. Zara is task trained for her handler and our head trainer Mycaela McCorry and enjoys doing fancy tricks in her free time. Thus, she has earned her Novice, Intermediate and Advanced AKC Trick Dog Titles. Schutzhund dog sport based, Zara also has her BH title and is trained in extensive obedience, agility and sleeve work.
Zara's caring and loving nature has enabled her to become the ultimate demo dog for multiple companies that her and her handler works for. She regularly helps temperament test future service dogs and helps teach them how to socialize and have confidence when working on public access training. Zara also helps teach the local canine departments and first responders on how to muzzle and carefully care for their canines when in the field if there is ever a causality or first aid trauma.
FREYA OZBECCA MCCORRY
Demo Dog and Search and Rescue K9 in Training
Freya Ozbecca McCorry is an AKC registered German Shepherd, Belgian Malionis mix. She is currently in training as a demo dog and will pursue Search and Rescue work with her handler Gabriel McCorry.
While Freya is fine tuning her obedience and SAR foundation skills, she has earned her Canine Good Citizen Title with the AKC.
Freya also assists in teaching the local canine departments and first responders on how to muzzle and carefully care for their canines when in the field if there is ever a causality or first aid trauma just like her canine sister Zara.
