OUR RECOMMENDED TRAINING GEAR- LEASHES AND COLLARS ONLY

In our program we have used quite a few different types of leashes and collars. As balanced trainers, we try multiple tools on each dog to see what tools works best for which breed, temperament and personality. Every dog is very different, where some dogs require light pressure and encouragement, other dogs need a firmer hand and stricter training methods. Majority of the collars and leashes we use can be found easily for instant gratification purposes or can be found online supporting local businesses that create quality training gear.

TRAINING COLLARS

We believe in balanced training methods. A lot of dogs and their problems can be fixed by using a prong collar. Made in Germany and scientifically backed, these specific Herm Sprenger prong collars create equal distribution of pressure around the entire neck and have a clip, buckle or a plate to protect the dog's trachea at all times when ushering a correction. These corrections also bring them back to their instincts of when momma dog would bite their scruff to correct them. The prongs simulate teeth of momma dog to bring them back to reality and communicate in their language that they are doing something wrong or need to be steered away towards another path or desired behavior.

BASIC HERM SPRENGER PRONG COLLAR

This is your typically Herm Sprenger prong collar. Designed with a basic trachea plate, the prongs need to be squeezed/ pinched together for remove and putting on the collar. Fun Fact: prong collars are typically mistaken for and called pinch collars for the wrong reasons when in fact they are called pinch collars because that's how you apply and remove the collar.

ALL BLACK BASIC HERM SPRENGER PRONG COLLAR

This is your same basic Herm Sprenger prong collar. as mentioned above. Designed with the same basic trachea plate and prongs as well. The only difference is that this collar is all black instead of chrome for a better look or to blend into your dog's dark colored fur. We typically recommend 2.25mm prong collars for dogs under 80lbs because the larger 3.0mm prong are for extremely large breeds. The 2.25mm prong is slightly sharper, thus giving a more accurate correction that your dog will respond to.

QUICK RELEASE HERM SPRENGER PRONG COLLAR

This is your fancy version of the same basic Herm Sprenger prong collar as mentioned above. The only thing different about this collar is that instead of a trachea plate, there is a buckle for easy putting on and removal. Although it is a little pricier than the above Herm Sprengers, the convenience of the forward buckle makes it a breeze to use.

QUICK RELEASE ALL BLACK HERM SPRENGER

An all black version of your Herm Sprenger with a different quick release system. Still easy to use and convenient to easily put on and take off but stealthy with the all black. Extra backup system to slide over the quick release to make sure to won't come off your dog if it gets knocked.

LEASHES

In our experience, we have had the best and most success with biothane or leather leashes. Biothane is an awesome material that is waterproof, easy to clean and doesn't stink or pick up smells. Leather leashes are long lasting and wear nicely with time if taken care of or not eaten by your dog. They are smooth and soft to hold and won't cause rope burns if your dog likes to pull or tries to get away from you like what could happen with other material leashes.

BASIC LEATHER LEASH

Soft to the touch and super durable when it comes to aggressive pullers or super active dogs in general. This leash will last you a long while, unless your dog eats it lol. Always store away from where your dog can reach it as ingesting anything that is not dog safe food can be harmful.

BIOTHANE DOG LEASH

With various sizes, colors and lengths, this biothane leash is good for all breeds no matter their size or their age. Non stinky, gummy and buttery to the touch when holding and super easy to wipe clean. Take this leash on hikes, to the beach, on the boat or just walking around your neighborhood. We love a good biothane leash

BIOTHANE DOG LEASH WITH EXTRA DURABLE FROG CLIP

If you have a dog that easily escapes or somehow they always seem to get their leash off, this is the leash for you. With an added frog clip, this leash is next to impossible to break out of. Surprisingly lightweight in regards to leashes, the heavy duty, quick release Frog Clip can withstand 2000+ lbs of pulling pressure and remains easy for you to open with just a little squeeze. The handy G-clip located on the handle makes it extremely simple to loop the leash around a tree or pole when needed, just attach it back onto the leash to secure the loop.

BIOTHANE LONG LINE TRAINING LEASH

Great for training, this long line is an awesome tool for teaching recalls, doing tracking, great for dog sport or awesome just for lazy walking with some extra room for your dog to explore. The biothane makes a huge difference in long lines because if you are tracking, who knows where the leash is dragging when your dog is that great of a distance away. Available in 10ft, 15ft, 30ft or 50ft lengths. Ask us which length is good for you and your dogs needs.

SHORT TRAFFIC TAB

Traffic tabs are amazing tools in the training pipeline. This very short tab allows you to keep a leash on at home to have control of your dog instead of wearing a full long leash. We only use these when supervised and in the presence of our dogs and they are not meant to be left on when not training or actively near your dog. These are also great for off leash heeling and working to keep as a handle when needing to grab your dog but also keeps them from wearing a full leash. We only recommend these tabs for dogs fully trained in off leash work or for dogs that need to wear something at home to ensure extra corrective measure can be applied when it comes to behavior issues or the need for extra control.

COLOR OPTION TRAFFIC TABS

Again, we only use these when supervised and in the presence of our dogs and they are not meant to be left on when not training or actively near your dog. We only recommend these tabs for dogs fully trained in off leash work or for dogs that need to wear something at home to ensure extra corrective measure can be applied when it comes to behavior issues or the need for extra control. But here are some fun color options in packs of two for your traffic tab.
